Phineas and Sarah openly wept, yet said nothing to Snerra as they made haste from their camp. The soldier knew the only way to make them put the thought of their dead daughter behind them was to keep moving. It was also useful for survival reasons. Snerra and the family of three left the inn carrying what they could. Looking at the group, Snerra almost chuckled. With the exception of his sword, the ad-hoc weapons they carried bordered on absurdity. The father carried an iron frying pan with the sack of food draped over his shoulder. Life Before Undeath Part 17

Snerra entered the town warily, sword still drawn from its scabbard. A deep, permeating silence resonated through the foul smelling air. What should have been a thriving town center was now abandoned. Once-beautiful houses owned by the town’s aristocratic few began showing signs of ruin, with windows shattered and foul, acrid smoke pouring out, flames evident inside them.
Making his way to the inn, Snerra slowly pushed the door open. As one of the last remaining in tact buildings, the soldier hoped to pillage some food and water for his journey …

Snerra rode hard until he at last reached the outskirts of the Hillsbrad region. Following a map he had been given from Magistrate Burnside, he found the path that would take him a bit further east, then due north into the city of Andorhal. It was there that he would meet with Collinsworth and begin their investigation. It was also the area around where Addinson’s mount had been discovered, it’s flesh appearing to have been eaten.
