Post-Turkey Day Coma

After a very long and much needed 5-day vacation, we’re back and ready for action. And by “back”, I mean this is probably going to be a relatively short post as I tackle an inbox full of work-related email and other such nonsense that stands in the way of good writing time.

Pet-Sitting

Arrens was a creature of habit. He awoke well before daybreak every morning, conducted a vigorous workout outdoors that alternated between running several miles, hefting an axe to chop wood for the fireplace or any number of sweat-inducing labor that would provide health benefits as well as wake him from the previous night’s slumber. This particular morning, however, he had another stop to make before heading to the University. Things were mostly quiet within the University halls. A large percentage of the student population was off celebrating the holiday week with friends and family. Only a few remained, their noses crammed into books for the upcoming semester finals that would occur prior to the Winter’s Veil break.
