Screw It!

This blog has been dead for too long and I simply can’t allow that to happen anymore. As such, the main page (and if you’re reading this, you’re here! Grats!) will no longer be completely IC or In Character. IC and OOC, or Out of Character, posts will now be labeled as such going forward. Why the change of heart? Well, there’s a few reasons.

One, sometimes I just want a place to spew forth my feelings, ideas and knowledge to the masses. Will it bring any semblance of readership? Who knows? Do I really care? Sure. What blogger out there doesn’t like seeing people read their blogs? None. No such creature exists. And if they say they’re just writing for themselves, they’re either lying or fooling themselves. That all changes once people start commenting. Then all bets are off.

So where are we going with this thing? Not sure just yet. Time will tell. What it won’t be is theorycrafting or number-crunching or how to get the best gear for rogues or warlocks, my two main classes that I know just slightly less than nothing about.

Perhaps it will evolve (devolve?) into just a general discussion of how to RP. Perhaps it will become a place for people to banter about whatever it is that pops into my head in the coming days, weeks, months or however long this iteration of a blog sticks around. I simply hope you enjoy it and keep returning.

I’ll keep the OOC page just for posterity’s sake. Perhaps someday I’ll move all that stuff here to the main page. But I’m lazy and don’t much feel like putting in all the effort  of copying and pasting. Hey, I said I was lazy. Ask the wife. She’ll agree.

Anyways, on with some minor business. Kestrel of Kestrel’s Airee tagged me for an internet meme regarding the first commenter I ever had. Not too hard to search, really. Rarespawn, who used to have a blog of her own, was my first commenter. Sadly, the blog she maintained is gone to the Twisting Nether like so many others. Second commenter? Natural Chaos. Another blogger that’s no longer with us.

So there we go. Now that that’s out of the way, perhaps something more will come. The holidays are fast approaching, so this will sadly go defunct until shortly after the new year. For this I apologize. But new things are headed our way, friends. I can only ask  that you stick around and bear with me a little longer as I get this ship asail once more.

Sometimes, the first grand plan needs a bit of tweaking in order to find our writing groove. :) It’s good to be honest about it all. I hope you can keep moving forward. Just don’t forget to finish the story, too!

    Best wishes,

The story’s hardly dead. In fact, it evolves more and more everytime I log into the game and interact with other RPers. Sadly, that doesn’t necessarily make its way into the blog for any number of reasons. I will, however, make an effort to do more stories regarding Arrens and perhaps try to integrate other alts/toons/backstories to make it interesting again.

    And thanks for stopping by!

  3. This is probably a strange thing to say after we just completed a long arc leading into the expansion, but just let it happen sometimes. It’s easy to collapse under the weight of too many plans. And, honestly, the quickly dashed off bit is sometimes the best one.

Amen, Ringo. The point is to make this blog semi-relevant, at least to me. Should it find its little niche in the big, giant WoW-o-spehere, great. But I’m tired of looking at it and thinking, “Boy. Sure haven’t written anything in forever. Feel pretty guilty about that.” That’s hopefully going to change.
