A Couple of Random Notes
Those of you who read this through a feed reader aren’t likely to notice the new shinies hanging around the site. For those of you that visit directly, welcome to the new and improved design! New banner, new theme, new everything, all created by Lassirra, she who is made of pure awesome (and also of The Hunter’s Mark fame, which any hunter worth their salt should be reading!).
On the RP front, lots has happened in-game. Arrens has been sent into self-exile from Stormwind and is currently holed up in Faldir’s Cove. SI:7 is currently on the lookout for one Tarquin ap Danwyrith and is nabbing people left and right. Arrens was the first to get pinched, Rosie was the second. Instead of putting others in danger for fear of being taken in for more drugged questioning again, Arrens opted to flee from the town for the time being until things calm down a bit. A learned scholar living in a cave and surrounded by pirates of the Blackwater Raider persuasion puts the good headmaster a bit out of his element. But he’s coping, with the help of Aely sending him a rather large package of extra clothing and food and the kittens, who have been an enormous amount of moral support to everyone in need.
“But Uncle Arrens, who are the kittens?”
I’m so glad you asked.
It has been said repeatedly by myself, Anna, and the ineffable team of writers over at WTT:RP that RP doesn’t happen to you, it happens with you. When Arrens started this whole messy relationship with Rosie, I had no idea the repercussions would lead to where they have right now, with Arrens being in exile, Rosie going through God-knows-what under the ministrations of Mathias Shaw and his goons and Aely, Bricu and Tarquin (and countless others) all caught in one giant mess. It seems everyone’s side stories have directly or indirectly led up to this point. And the kittens are no different.
Windstar, Shaurria and now Takani are three druids that have the instinctual feline trait of knowing when people need some companionship. Oftentimes, they’ll bump their heads under someone’s hand and just…sit there, waiting to be pet. While it’s therapeutic for the one having a rough go of it, it’s also a quiet burden for the kittens who are often mistaken for being little more than an emo dump. As we find out, they have their own set of issues that need some resolving. So go on over there and give them a read and find out how they too are affected by all the crazy currently going on within Azeroth.

This page looks fine, but your “About” section looks broken, with middle and right column below the left one.
Firefox with noscript here.
I love the new look! Great job, Lassirra!
But as Armagon said, your About page is broken for me too – your sidebars appear under the main content for some reason.
Thanks, folks. Sitting in my inbox is what I suspect a fix to this bug. It’s going to have to wait till I get home and have access to my FTP to upload it though.
Guess I won’t tell you your About page is borked then.
Really great looking site–congrats to you for having Lass pretty it up for you, and to Lass for another outstanding job!
I see a couple things I still borked. *sigh*
That’s my fault. I sent two updated versions yesterday, and I think I was unclear as to which was the latest, heh. Resending today, and everything should be fixed then.
Arrens has been kind enough to be my ginnea pig here, lol. This is the first time I’ve designed a theme destined for a place I don’t have admin access to so I could make last-minute fixes on the live version (my sandbox works well, but it’s hard to test everything). Thanks to Arrens, I’ve now streamlined my development process.
It’s my pleasure, Lass. I’ll have the latest update installed by this afternoon. Sorry I couldn’t get to it yesterday (and that things have been quiet this week). It’s been a rough few days. We’ll be back to normal (hopefully) by next week.
No problem, it’s understandable.
